This elegant silk scarf features watercolor artwork by Joni Eareckson Tada, which was inspired by a misty morning with her husband Ken fishing on a lake in the Sierra Mountains. The idyllic scene reminded Joni of God’s words in Isaiah 30: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.”

Joni shares her memory of the morning she captured in this rendering: “Years ago, when Ken and I went camping in the Sierra Mountains, we got up early one morning to go fishing. I sat on the edge of the lake and enjoyed watching my husband through the dawning mist as he lapped the water with his oars, looking for just the right fishing spot. With hazy mountains in the background, Ken in his boat made the most idyllic, peaceful scene. It was enough to inspire me to paint a similar design when we returned home. In our fast-paced world, it’s always good to look for God-sent moments of peace. All we need to do is open our eyes to see his creation, and our hearts to embrace his presence.”
