Serving Needs and Transforming Hearts
Worldwide, the pandemic has driven families with disability further into isolation. Joni’s House is an international disability center located in some of the poorest areas to serve families living with disability. Through local church, community, and government partners, Joni and Friends is providing medical and mobility support, patient advocacy, essential resources, and spiritual care to entire families living with disability. This complete, Christ-centered care addresses physical needs as we demonstrate the love of Jesus and each person’s worth and dignity in him.
Providing Essential Care
Spiritual
Spiritual
As we answer the call of Luke 14 and share the love of Christ, we meet the deepest spiritual needs of the world’s wounded and disabled. The tangible love of Jesus transforms souls, as well as the heart of their village.
Physical
Physical
Hearts are opened to the gospel through physical acts of mercy and compassion. Children are lifted out of the dirt and into wheelchairs, giving them mobility and dignity. Food is provided to the hungry families and wounds receive medical attention.
Social
Social
Breaking barriers of rejection and isolation, Joni’s House is a place of belonging. Children and adults with disability come to understand their value as God’s image bearers and social stigmas fade as the community sees that all are equal in the eyes of Christ.
Economic
Economic
People living with disability are taught trades such as farming, gardening, and sewing – restoring dignity and purpose to their lives. Parents who can provide for their family no longer feel forced to send their children into the streets to beg for food.
