Praying in Jesus’ Name

At the cross

On Monday we talked about why we say “Amen” at the end of prayers. But lots of times, when people get to the end of their prayer, they don’t just say Amen. Usually they say “In Jesus’ name” or “In Jesus’ name we pray” and then they say Amen. Why is that? It is because in John 14:13-14 Jesus says, “And I will do anything you ask in my name. Then the Father will receive glory from the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name. I will do it” (NIrV). Did Jesus really mean anything? Yes, He did! But it is important to know what He meant by asking in His name. If you are curious, come back on Friday to find out!
