Sharing Hope Through A Global Pandemic
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me!’”

Days before the world started shutting down due to COVID-19, wheelchairs were distributed and the Gospel was shared at our Wheels for the World outreaches in El Salvador and Guatemala.
The love of Christ was put on display right when it was needed most!
It was as though Jesus was saying, “I know exactly what’s happening, how it impacts your life, and how it will all turn out in the end.” And it turned out that lives were transformed and souls were saved!
Six-year-old Deborah and her mother were brought closer to Christ during our Wheels for the World outreach in Guatemala. Prior to this outreach event, Deborah’s mother had to carry her frail body everywhere. Carrying Deborah gave her mother back problems, and she resorted to simply propping her up on her own with a pillow. Disability was forcing little Deborah further and further into isolation and despair. Her future looked bleak at best.
But all that changed when our volunteer therapists custom fit Deborah into her very own wheelchair, giving her the priceless gifts of mobility and dignity.
And as you can see from this beautiful photo, little Deborah – and her mother – were all smiles at the prospect of a future full of hope in Jesus!
While this powerful ministry was taking place in Guatemala, another Wheels for the World outreach was occurring in El Salvador.
And while five-year-old Escarleth received her own pediatric wheelchair, her mother and uncle heard the Gospel explained in their own language.
After five years of doubts and depression, they both embraced the Good News of Christ and prayed to receive Jesus as their personal Savior!
Wheels for the World delivers so much more than wheelchairs. These outreaches are what the Lord is using to give families like Escarleth’s the hope of an eternity in heaven!
And there are many more ways that we’re continuing to minister internationally, even in the midst of this global pandemic.
Because when COVID-19 threatened people’s food supply, our in-country partners brought rice and the Gospel to families impacted by disability in the Philippines – giving just one example of how we’re finding new ways to serve special needs families and show them that Jesus can supply every need in every situation.
Like distributing wheelchairs in Guadalajara and Poland. Underneath those safety masks are the smiles of our volunteers and in-country partners, who are showing the world that COVID-19 is no match for the power of God. During the uncertainty of coronavirus, people with disabilities still need mobility and they still need Jesus… and we are still dedicated to showcasing the steadfast sovereignty of God.
In these times of forced solitude, children and adults impacted by disability crave the comfort of knowing that God really is in control. Together with our in-country partners, we are continuing to advance the kingdom and minister to the least of these, right when they need it most. But we need your help to do all this!
We can’t wait for this global pandemic to end before we intervene on behalf of children with disabilities – just like Deborah and Escarleth.
They need tangible, touchable evidence of God’s love right now!
