Thursday, July 15th Update from Joni:
Oh, how I praise God for simple answers to prayer: I’m getting great rest, sleeping well, my physical strength is good, I don’t feel overwhelmed, and I’m surrounded by supportive family and friends. Praise God! Hopefully, before treatment starts in two weeks, I’ll even be able to sneak out to our Joni and Friends’ Family Retreat at Murrieta Hot Springs just a few hours drive away — it’s been so uplifting to read how this summer’s Family Retreats have been filled to the max and enjoying an overflow of God’s abundant blessings as many families are embracing Christ through their hardships. Hallelujah!
The doctors have recommended that I not travel while I am going through chemotherapy. Although I am disappointed to have to postpone various engagements, I invite you to join me in praying for all our JAF Field teams who will still be carrying out some fantastic ministry over the next several months… domestic and international Family Retreats, Wheels for the World trips, training summits, and so much more. One more thing. Please be in prayer for several hospital prep-appointments scheduled over the next two weeks — I love following the Holy Spirit’s lead, doing things “decently and in order.” Thanks again for your comments on the blog (so encouraging!) And bless you for your intercessions!
