Where is God in your journey of parenting a child with disabilities?
In celebration of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Stephanie Hubach is joining Crystal on the podcast. She’s sharing the joys and challenges of parenting a child with intellectual disabilities.
Stephanie is a visiting instructor and research fellow in disability ministries at Covenant Theological Seminary and previously served as the Director of Mission to North America’s Special Needs Ministries.
Listen as Stephanie shares wisdom from her leadership experience in disability ministry as well as personal insight from raising two sons to adulthood, Freddy and Tim who has Down syndrome.
Hear how her role as a mother has changed throughout the years, the steps she’s taking to prepare for the future, and how the church can meet the biggest needs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Although parenting a child with exceptionalities can be an isolating experience, nothing can separate God’s children from his loving presence. In thirty-one daily readings, Stephanie explores the many blessings that come to you and your child through the promise of Immanuel, “God with us.”
There’s a role for everyone in the body of Christ – even those with disabilities! Stephanie presents a biblical view of disability, along with a call to churches to develop an inclusive community for all people.
