Sign Up for the National Bible Bee Competition

Bible BeeYears ago, when I was on my feet and used to play field hockey in high school, our coach had a thing about running laps after practice. I was already dog-tired and by the fifth lap, I would be dragging — but that’s when I’d kick in with this little habit of mine to help keep me focused. You see I was quite competitive and as I would run, I would half sing in rhythm of my stride the verse from 1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, for there is one God and one mediator, the man Christ Jesus.” It may sound strange, but something about that verse helped me stay focused on running those laps.

Today, I can’t use my legs to run around a race track, but I do run this Christian race while hanging on to the portions of Scripture I memorized as a child. Whenever I’ve needed a word of encouragement or of correction, His Word has always been there in my heart and mind. It’s why I’m such a great fan of the National Bible Bee Competition. Right now, the Bee is taking registration for their competition coming this Fall. It’s a great way to get your kids digging into God’s Word and memorizing truths that will encourage and guide them so that as Proverbs 22 says, your child will be trained onto the right path and not leave it in the years to come. The deadline for registration is Monday, June 22—so sign up now!
