Trading Your Life

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When I was a teenager and still an unbeliever, I knew the Gospel, but I was afraid to give my life to Christ. I mean, God was asking me to trade the known for the scary unknown! At least I knew my life – or I thought I did. But I had no idea what God had in store for me. Then a friend showed me Romans chapter 8 where it says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also along with him, graciously give us all things.”

Wow, compared to that, my plans for my life seemed pretty insignificant and small minded. I took the plunge and came to Christ, and I’m so glad I did. For now, even though God’s plans for me included a wheelchair, he still has graciously given me all things: joy, peace, a purpose for living, contentment with life and a home in heaven. I am so glad I traded my life for his. And I hope you’re glad today, too.
