Soar Like a Kite
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and bright afternoons with gusts of wind are the best days to fly a kite, don’t you think? There’s something uplifting to the spirit when you fly a kite. You might even paraphrase Isaiah 40 and say: those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar like a kite. They will sail and not lose their wind, they will fly and not get entangled in the limbs of trees. You know, when we hope and put our confidence in the Lord, we can soar like a kite. And just as a kite has been designed to fly above the earth, so you, too, your Maker has designed you to live beyond the entanglements of this world. If there is a gust of breeze outside your window today, let it be a reminder to put your hope in the Lord.
