Promises to Stand On

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I may be sitting down in a wheelchair, but I am so glad God has given us promises that we can stand on. First John chapter 1 says that if we confess our sins, he is faithful to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 8:28 is another great promise. We’re promised that God works everything for good to those who love him. And another promise to stand on is in First Peter 5:7 – there we are assured that God is truly and intimately concerned about every one of our cares. 

Oh, my goodness, what great promises to stand on! Or in my case, what great promises for me to sit on. So I have to ask, what are you standing on? These promises – and many, many more – are yours, and they are free. And they are the best promises possible because they come from God. That means not a one of them will be broken. Every one will be fulfilled. And that, friend, is something to stand on.
