Familiar Footsteps

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and isn’t it funny how certain sounds make you feel warm inside? Sounds like ocean waves, or wind in the trees, or that quiet, steady breathing of your child in his crib. When I think of sounds that make me feel good, I think back on days when I was in the hospital. I remember lying in bed for weeks, wishing time would go faster. And then I would hear the wonderful sound of familiar footsteps coming up the hallway. I was even able to recognize the footsteps of my family members. And you know, when I think of familiar footsteps, I think of Romans chapter 10, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” Yep, the footsteps of my parents and my sisters always signaled good things, but how much more when we bring the life-saving Gospel to one who is lost, right? That’s what makes for beautiful feet! So go out there, and make your feet beautiful to someone today!
