Better Together: Joni and Friends Fresno and Sacramento Merge to Serve More Families
AGOURA HILLS, CA, March 12, 2024 – The international disability ministry Joni and Friends is excited to announce that two of its area ministry offices — Sacramento and Fresno — have joined forces to serve more families across California. The new office will be known as Joni and Friends Central California.
Joni and Friends will continue to maintain physical locations in both Sacramento and Fresno. This new, unified team will amplify our efforts to provide practical help and Gospel hope to families living with disability. Joni and Friends Central California will radiate services and support from both offices, strategically reaching families to the north, south, east, and west of each location.
The new Joni and Friends Central California will commemorate the merger by hosting its first annual Dodgeball Tournament at Jessup University in Rocklin on April 6 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Jessup University will host the event in their Warrior Arena and all proceeds will benefit Joni and Friends.
Proceeds will support programs like Family Retreat, which provides a rich, faith-based camp environment that is safe and accepting for every member of the family.
In 2024, Joni and Friends Central California will host Family Retreat at Zephyr Cove in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and Wonder Valley Ranch Resort in Sanger, California.
Marriage and Warrior Getaways, which are designed for couples and Veterans living with disability, respectively, will be held at Wonder Valley Ranch Resort and the Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds in Occidental, California.
Joni and Friends is thrilled to serve more families in Central California. We won’t rest until every person living with disability finds hope, dignity, and their place in the body of Christ.
