We Are Image-Bearers of God!

Today we’re honoring the sanctity of life, and for me, it’s pretty personal. Cause when I get up in the morning–as difficult as it is–I need to remember in whose image I am made. My body may be broken, but I am a God-reflector. I mirror a God who made me in his image. And that is what gives me (gives us all) human dignity – not the ability to walk or use of your hands.

Human dignity doesn’t depend on whether or not I can blow my nose, cut my food, or toilet myself. It’s prideful to think it’s beneath your dignity to be weak and helpless. Look, there’s no room for pride when you bear the image of God. Only humility–you are humbled when you realize you are an image bearer of Almighty God. So, on Sanctity of Life Day, spread the word. Quality of life doesn’t depend on what you can or cannot do; it’s whose image you reflect.
