He Will Help You
“Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you.”
Isaiah 41:14
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know the Bible goes to great pains to remind us how small we are. Like Isaiah chapter 41, verse 14, “‘Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you,’ declares the LORD.” There is a reason, friend, God’s Word makes much of our smallness. It’s because He wants us to see how big He is. Yet as large as our Lord is, He tells you not to be afraid, for He himself will help you. God laid aside his glory and became a man for you; he gave up his life for you; and if he did all this, surely he will help you. For if God has done the greater thing – the bigger things – then, will he not do the smaller things? Help, aid, and sustain you in the tiniest details of your struggles? Today, gather up all your wants and needs; collect your emptiness and your worries, great and small – because the Lord of the universe who bought you with his blood stands ready to help you.
