God’s Glory
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 15:5-6
God created you for one purpose. Just one. The Bible says that it’s to showcase his glory – to enjoy it, display it, and demonstrate it every day to everyone you encounter. Every time you show mercy instead of holding a grudge? You are fulfilling the purpose for which God created you; you’re glorifying him.
Or when you tell the truth, or go the extra mile, sit with a hurting friend, or put the spotlight on others, you are fulfilling your purpose for living. But, hey, you are really in your purpose-zone when you talk up the Lord Jesus, make him look good, and tell others about him. Don’t ever think your life is too ordinary, your world too small, or your work too insignificant: all of it, every part of it is a stage set for you to step into your purpose for living… and glorify God.
