Down Into Egypt

You know how when you’re reading the Bible, and the Spirit grabs a verse and presses it deep into your heart, so much so, that it brings tears? Well last week my eyes fell on Genesis 46, verse 4; God simply says, “I will go down with you into Egypt, and will bring you safely out again.”

And man, my eyes got hot with emotion. Because it hit me: I’ve been in Egypt a long time, at least physically… and God was assuring me that he is with me (in my land of slavery, as it were).

And like God’s people of old in that hard place, God gonna bring me safely out. It was just so sweet. And so, if, when you are reading God’s word (a seemingly innocuous passage), if your heart is moved, be sure it is the hand of God reaching so deep and sweet where nobody else can go.

Finding God’s Plan for Your Life

Maria is one of four sisters—and a twin! Two of her sisters deal with mental health struggles and learning disabilities. Like many siblings in households navigating disability, Maria needed God’s help to understand her own identity, story, and calling. And she wants you to discover what she has: that God is close and trustworthy, and that he has a good plan for your life.
