Be All There
“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.”
Ephesians 1:11
Do you remember times when, at a dinner party, a committee meeting or a coffee time with co-workers you thought to yourself, “What am I doing here? I can’t wait to leave and get on with other things!” But stop. If you trust in a sovereign God who has ordained that you be among these very people, there’s a divine purpose for your presence.
Ephesians 1:11 says, “In him we were also chosen…according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” God may want you at that dinner party to speak his name boldly at the table. You may be at the committee meeting to pray for the chairman. You could be at coffee time to share your testimony with an unsaved coworker. Jim Elliot said, “Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.”
