A Lesson From Mary
“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”
Luke 2:19
In the Christmas story in Luke chapter 2, just look at what Mary does. After the shepherds came racing to the stable, hands waving, all excited to tell her about the angels’ announcement of Jesus… verse 19 says that she “treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” It wasn’t the only time she did that. As her Son grew older, there were other occasions when Mary treasured and pondered the meaning behind His life and ministry. And this Christmas? I want to be like Mary. Be amazed with me that the God who fills the universe came to earth as… a baby. And even more miraculous, he stooped even lower to be your Savior. So, this season? Bring delight to the heart of God by treasuring up all these things and pondering them in your heart. Mary’s left us a good example.
