Meet the Sanders
Last month while recording “Joni and Friends” radio programs, we celebrated two big milestones: 35 Years of Radio and the 90th birthday of my good friend, Al Sanders. We went into the studio early to record a mix of programs, then enjoyed a celebration lunch (including a Baskin-Robbins chocolate chip ice cream cake—Al’s favorite), and then back into the studio to record three more interviews. The day was super-busy, but filled with laughter, heartfelt reflections, prayer, and even a few hymns.
More than 3 ½ decades ago, Al Sanders was the reason why I began doing radio. As the chief executive at Ambassador Agency back then, it was his idea! And now, starting tomorrow, we record another full day of radio programs. Would you please join me in praying that my messages will encourage our listeners, and that I will have full breath to declare God’s truth? A good night’s sleep, a pain-free day, and an abundance of energy is needed for tomorrow’s rigorous schedule. So thank you for lifting me up on tomorrow’s recording day. Thirty-five years of radio wouldn’t have happened without your prayers. God bless you!
