Step Through the Fog

A park with a pathway running through it, trees and street lamps scattered around, a thick fog settling in.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I’m sure you’ve driven in a thick mist where you put on your fog lights, you hunch over the wheel, you drive slowly at 15 miles an hour. You inch forward carefully, adjusting your speed by what you can actually see. Well, that’s a great word picture of Psalm 119 where we are told that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet. Because often the future can look like a thick fogYet remember, the Bible is not a lamp for what’s way up ahead, far down the road; no, rather, the Word of God illumines what’s right in front of you, like the decisions you’re making today. It sheds light on the foggy circumstances youre in right now. So, move forward carefully and adjust your speed according to Galatians chapter 5 where you’re told to keep in step with the Spirit. Because as you do, God will lift the fog, and help you see a lot more clearly through His Word.
