Refreshing Joy and Peace

Close up of dead grass swaying in the wind.

This is Joni Eareckson Tada and I have always loved the wind; to me, the sound of wind through the trees is divine. And I’ve felt those divine stirrings when feeling the wind in my face or watching it toss ocean waves…sitting outside and listening to a breeze whisper through my neighbors’ pine trees. Thus, it is no surprise to me that Jesus likened the wind to the Spirit. The wind, by its very nature, moves. And like wind, the Spirit of Christ is always moving, always stirring, always convicting and comforting and encouraging and helping and teaching. And this explains why, when the Spirit moves in your life, you feel so… fresh. Or I should say, refreshed. Just like a cool wind. Listen, friend, if the Spirit of God resides within you (as He does in every believer), then He’s moving, wanting to stretch your soul and enlarge your faith. Invite Him to do that in your life today and be refreshed by the joy and peace that always leaves its mark….
