Life Is War
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and on this side of heaven, life is war. It’s one spiritual battle after the next. And just what are these battles all about? Well, let me put it this way: with sin still living inside of us (and it does), we are constantly being torn between our wants and wishes, our pride and our purpose for living, as opposed to the great and glorious purposes of Christ. We tend to value comfort and pleasure more than we do redemption. We are tempted to enjoy the world, rather than enjoying the things that please God. And yes, we still complain when trials come our way and we only credit God with being faithful when things seem to go as we’d like. Oh, friend, we may be children of the King, but we are still made of flesh and blood; we are still our own worst enemy. So! Put on the armor of God and fight to stay satisfied in him.
