Joy’s Legacy

At the start of our Wheels for the World program, Joy Eusebio was inspired to begin collecting wheelchairs for the ministry… and she hasn’t looked back since! Over the past two decades, Joy has built what can only be described as a Chair Corps legacy.

Far and wide, she has spread awareness of the need for mobility and Wheels for the World, inspiring so many donors to give hundreds of wheelchairs year after year. Nursing homes, special needs schools, medical loan closets, therapy centers and hospitals… they all know and adore Joy!

Through these connections, she has collected thousands of wheelchairs for Joni and Friends. This means thousands of people impacted by disability are now able to experience the freedom of mobility and the hope of Christ because of a wheelchair Joy collected!

About 15 years ago, Joy made a connection with a generous Landscape Development and Supply company. When she told Haynes about her volunteer work, the owners immediately knew that they wanted to be involved. They quickly identified an old building that Joy could use to store wheelchairs, prior to being sent for restoration. Since that time, Haynes has actually donated three different warehouse spaces for Joy to use, all with more than enough room to store hundreds of wheelchairs at a time. They’ve even offered their own drivers and trucks to assist Joy whenever she needs to ship wheelchairs to a Restoration Center!

After many years of service collecting wheelchairs, Joy had the opportunity to see firsthand how her efforts were making a worldwide impact for the kingdom of God. Joy traveled to Romania on a Wheels for the World outreach and personally saw lives changed by the gift of a wheelchair. What wonderful stories she brought back to share with her wheelchair donors!

God has truly equipped Joy in her work and people with disabilities around the world have reaped the benefits of her tireless effort. With every interaction, Joy makes people feel special and important, so it only goes to show that people love partnering with her to support Wheels for the World. We are so grateful for Joy and her many years of service!

“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.”

Philemon 1:7
