Hope in the Midst of Turmoil
When our Joni and Friends Wheels for the World team arrived in Haiti, the country was in complete turmoil. Upon landing, amid clear and present danger, our in-country partners Richard and Gina prayerfully and carefully arranged for us to have a security escort; angels cleverly disguised as policemen.
We faced many challenges on the trip to the wheelchair distribution location. The bumpy ride from the Port-au-Prince Airport to the distribution site was an intense 4 hours and we passed blockades and riots on our way.
But never once did our team look back; we knew there was so much need! We had to make it to Joslinda, Louie, and the many other people desperately awaiting our arrival. Watch how our Wheels for the World program transformed lives in Haiti with a wheelchair, a Bible, and the love of Jesus.
