Children All Over the World Are in Desperate Need!

This month, despite world events, children with disabilities still need wheelchairs and they still need Jesus. And today, right when we need it most, we are grateful for our May Match initiative!

Some dear friends of the ministry are so dedicated to sharing the Gospel and delivering practical help to families impacted by disability, that they’ve offered to match every dollar you give to Joni and Friends – all the way up to $500,000!

That means that together with your support, we can raise $1,000,000 to transform the lives of children like Don living in a tiny village in Thailand. When Don was born with cerebral palsy, his mother was told that he was the child of a ghost; that little Don was half human and half ghost.

Can you imagine the pain his family must have felt because his culture is so confused about disability? The rejection, humiliation and despair brought on by these hurtful comments are almost too much to bear.

Fighting back the tears, Don’s father confessed, “I doubted God.” How could a loving God create a child with such severe disabilities? And how could Don’s family ever afford to get him the wheelchair he needed if he was ever going to be an active part of his family and community? What was the future going to look like for Don and his struggling family?

It seemed as though Don was destined to live life in the margins.

That is, until he and his father came to our Wheels for the World outreach where Don received a much-needed wheelchair and his family received the truth of God’s Word.

A big smile came over Don’s sweet face as he was custom-fitted into his wheelchair, and his family received a totally new perspective on disability and God’s all-encompassing love. Don was given the gifts of dignity and mobility, and his parents were blessed with increased faith in Jesus!

And today, every dollar given will be matched so that all over the world, more and more special needs families can be drawn out of the shadows of rejection and into the welcoming light of Christ!
