Smelling a flower

Can you smell the smell of “new”? With the school year starting, you probably have lots of new school supplies. Pencils and erasers, maybe a new backpack or new shoes. In your classroom maybe you can smell new carpet or new paint. It all smells new now, but in a few weeks or months, you’ll forget these things were new when you started school. Why is that? Because the smell will gradually fade away. Did you know you’ve got an important “new” smell? 2 Corinthians 2:15 says, “God considers us to be the sweet smell that Christ is spreading among people who are being saved and people who are dying” (NIrV). As you meet different teachers and kids, smell sweet! Be a reminder to everyone that Jesus Christ makes all things new. And this kind of new doesn’t fade away!
