Hannah’s Prayer of Praise

If you’ve been reading through the Bible with Joni this year, you read about a woman named Hannah in 1 Samuel 2 today. Hannah often felt sad and upset because she was unable to have children. Back in the Old Testament, if a woman couldn’t have children, she was seen as a failure. Hannah prayed and prayed that God would give her a son. God heard Hannah’s prayers and blessed her with a baby boy named Samuel, which means “God has heard.” In 1 Samuel 2, Hannah praises the Lord for Samuel. She talks about how great and special God is, and how He’s always in control of everything. When you face hard moments, remember God has everything under control and He hears your prayers, just like He heard Hannah’s. Take a few minutes and praise God for all the prayers He’s answered in your life.
