Joni’s Favorite Verse: Ephesians 1:11

Have you been trying to keep up with all of Joni’s favorite verses? It is a hard thing to do because she’s got lots of favorites! Today we want to tell you about Ephesians 1:11 which says, “We were also chosen to belong to him. God decided to choose us long ago in keeping with his plan. He works out everything to fit his plan and purpose”(NIrV). Joni likes this verse because it promises that God has a reason for even the hard things in our lives. It isn’t always easy to believe, especially because we want to know God’s reasons! It is hard to be okay with not knowing why God has planned something hard for us. But when Joni starts to get frustrated that she doesn’t know God’s reasons, she remembers that God is an intentional planner. He doesn’t make quick decisions without thinking things through, and He doesn’t accidentally let things slip past Him. He knows and He’s in control!
