Bubbles, Toy Cars, and a Smile

Juans_Home_VisitBubbles. Toy cars. And a great big smile. These are three things you would find if you met Juan. He loves to play with bubbles and toy cars! Juan is five years old and lives in Peru. His family doesn’t have enough money to get electricity or water into their house and lots of times they can’t buy the things they need. But not being able to turn on lights when it is dark or turn on water to wash hands is not the hardest thing for Juan and his family. Juan can’t walk or talk, so his mom had to carry him everywhere! But not anymore! When you prayed for Peru, you were praying for Juan. You just didn’t know it yet! Two months ago, when you were praying, Juan got a wheelchair made just for him! But don’t stop praying for him yet. The same day he got his wheelchair, he and his mom heard about Jesus! Juan didn’t know that Jesus loved him. And Juan didn’t know that Jesus gave up his wonderful home in heaven to be born in a dark, smelly, and dirty stable. Jesus knows what it is like to live with not enough money in a house with no running water or electricity. And he chose it! Why? So that Juan and his family (and you and your family, too!) could one day live in a place much, much better than you can even imagine! So keep praying for Juan! Pray for him as this year he and his family think about Christmas in a whole new way!
