Shoes Of Iron
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently I read a fascinating blessing in Deuteronomy chapter 33. As God’s people, who are about to enter the Promised Land, the Lord tells them that: “Your shoes shall be of iron and brass.” It seems God knew all about the rough, rugged terrain that His people would face. And sandals? Well, they just wouldn’t do. God’s people would need shoes of iron. And this ancient promise is also meant for you. Because God knows, there’s rough, rugged terrain ahead for you. And in Deuteronomy chapter 33, God is making a pledge to you. He will not fail to provide you special grace, or that is, special shoes, as it were, for the rocky road ahead. That should be a comfort. For if you are on a hard path in life, God has promised to give you divine enabling for every difficult, rugged step you take. So, today, let God provide you suitable shoes for your hard and your demanding journey.
