Joni Eareckson Tada’s Latest Book Named a Finalist for the 2024 Christian Book Award 

AGOURA HILLS, CA, April 15, 2024 – Joni Eareckson Tada’s latest book, The Practice of the Presence of Jesus, has been named a finalist for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association’s 2024 Christian Book Award program. 

The finalists represent the best in Christian publishing among 12 book and Bible categories. Joni’s book is a finalist in the devotion and gift category.  

The Practice of the Presence of Jesus was released in October 2023 and by January, the daily devotional had earned a top spot on the ECPA’s bestsellers list. 

The book is based on the timeless wisdom of the seventeenth-century monk Brother Lawrence, who lived in a French monastery and wrote of finding God among everyday drudgeries while enduring during a turbulent era.  

Writing 400 years later, Eareckson Tada weaves in contemporary insights as she also speaks from a turbulent and chaotic era, sharing the lessons she has learned by living with the daily challenges of quadriplegia and chronic pain.  

Joni Eareckson Tada is the author and co-author of more than 60 books. Her first book, “Joni: An Unforgettable Story,” tells the story of how the Baltimore, Maryland native became paralyzed in a 1967 diving accident, and how God’s faithfulness equipped her to overcome the depression that followed. The book, first published in 1976, sold five million copies and was translated into 38 languages.  

The winners of the 2024 Christian Book Award program will be announced at the ECPA Leadership Summit on April 30 in Chicago.
