Wednesday, July 28th Update from Joni:
In her recent get-well card to me, my friend Sandy from Texas wrote three stanzas of the hymn “All the Way My Savior Leads Me” — my favorite goes, “All the way my Savior leads me, cheers each winding path I tread; gives me grace for every trial, feeds me with his heavenly bread. When my weary steps may falter, and my soul a-thrist may be; gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see!” At night, nothing chases away worries about the future faster than a whispered hymn in the dark. Try it the next time you can’t sleep :-).
Today, Ken and I will be at UCLA meeting with an oncologist who specializes in nutritional and homeopathic regimens — that’s something I’m very interested in, given my frail, quadriplegic bones. And there’s no better ‘bone supplement’ than Psalm 34:18-21, “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.” Join me in praying…
- we make good use of our limited time with the UCLA specialist
- that my bones will be made miraculously ‘stronger’ through my treatment
- for the families who will be attending the southern Oregon Family Retreat scheduled at Twin Peaks, California — it starts today! Ask God to bring to a saving knowledge of Christ disabled kids, adults, or family members who, as yet, do not know Him!
