Wednesday, July 21st Update from Joni:

Bless you for praying for me yesterday as I underwent an MRI — it’s not easy getting me and my bulky wheelchair into one of those diagnostic trailer-trucks in the hospital parking lot, but we did it (and I didn’t experience a minute of claustrophobia)! The tests went well, but please pray for the two MRI technicians to whom we gave Joni books — as we drove home, we kept praying for all the many people we’re meeting on this new mission field. It was a long day, but an encouraging one. Finally, before retiring last night, I read this special quote by James Montgomery, and I pass it on to you with a smile…

I cannot call affliction sweet;
And yet’ twas good to bear;
Affliction brought me to your feet,
And I found comfort there.

I join you at the foot of the cross today, looking for heaven-sent help to move forward with unflinching confidence in His great design. (The Murrieta Hot Springs Family Retreat begins today as families get settled in… ask God to ‘prepare the way’ for them to hear the Gospel message this week). Onward and upward and thank you for praying!
