Thirty-Seven Years!
I’ve got a special dinner in store for tonight! Thirty-seven years ago, Ken Tada and I said “I do” in front of our friends, family and most importantly, the Lord. We had no way of knowing what the future held (no one does, right?). But now that we’ve spent more than half our lives together, we will gladly say “I do” all over again, even though most of our married years have been a test of “for better or for worse; in sickness and in health.”
We talk a lot about this in our book Joni and Ken: An Untold Love Story. Quadriplegia, cancer, and chronic pain are never easy, but these 37 years have been good to us. No, scratch that. God has been good to us. And that’s why you’ll find us celebrating tonight at a fancy Italian restaurant down the road. It’s a happy, happy anniversary… To us!
