Monday, July 19th Update from Joni
Monday, July 19th Update from Joni:
I’m grateful God led you to my Corner today and, friend, as you lift me up before God’s Throne, would you also please join me in remembering the many families who are attending Family Retreats this week? I had been hoping to drive on Wednesday to our Murrieta Hot Springs Family Retreat near Temecula, California, but I’ve got a few too many medical appointments scheduled. Nevertheless, I’m bearing down on heaven, asking the Lord Jesus to mend marriages, lift depression, bring healing, and rescue disabled children, adults and their family members for the kingdom of Christ. (Yes, I need prayer, but there are a whole lot of other disabled people who, I believe, really need our special intercessions)!
One more thing. I have so appreciated your prayers for my strength! Last week I sure felt it — I spoke to 57 students (from 12 states and 4 countries) who came to our International Disability Center for a weeklong study program sponsored by our Christian Institute on Disability. Included were leaders of denominations, faculty members of universities, people with disabilities, parents, and disability ministry leaders. As I spoke, I was a little amazed, thinking, Lord, You are really pouring on the energy here! I even had enough strength to fellowship with the group over dinner. It really invigorated my heart — especially as I listened to the students share their fresh vision and plans to return home and fan the flames of Christ’s Gospel in the disability community!
And my word for you today? It’s simple and straight from Psalm 115:15, “May you be blessed by the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” Oh, what a delightful and gloriously blissful Savior we enjoy serving. I pray you’ll savor each of his blessings today, great and small.
