Friday, July 9th Update from Joni:

There’s nothing like a little hymn-harmonizing with visitors to make one’s spirits soar — that’s what happened when several JAF friends popped by to drop off flowers and food. Before I knew it, we were belting out “In Christ alone, my hope is found; he is my rock, my strength, my song!” Along with singing, I got an update on all our Joni and Friends’ ministry in China — plans are firming up for a Family Retreat in that country this fall. I get tickled thinking about a JAF Family Retreat Chinese-style :-)!

I hope to be able to return to the office this coming Monday — it’ll feel good to wheel up the ramp of the International Disability Center and visit the chapel where I will take a moment to thank God for enabling me to go “from strength to strength,” just as it says in Psalm 84. Although a lot lies ahead in my battle against this cancer, the Lord has promised to be with me every step of the way. And because I am not afraid, I know He is working through your prayers — I’m so grateful for your help and encouragement on this journey!
