My Wedding Anniversary

Ken and Joni

Ken Tada and I have been married 32 years today and, oh, are we celebrating! We were just saying that it seems like yesterday when I was wheeling down the church aisle in my wedding dress (Pastor John MacArthur, who married us, said later, “Joni, you were lovely; you looked like ‘a float in the Rose Parade!’”). Whether dealing with chronic pain, problems with quadriplegia, or cancer, Ken has been my champion – always the advocate who keeps looking out for my best interests. Tonight we will dine at our favorite Italian restaurant (if you read Joni and Ken: An Untold Love Story, you know which restaurant I’m speaking of :-). My love for my husband continues to grow every year! Take a moment and be encouraged by reading I Corinthians 13:5-7 from The Message:

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
