A True Friend

Don’t you love having friends? If you’ve been visiting Kids’ Corner for a while, you know we put a lot of thought into what it means to be a friend. And what is one of the most important things about being a good friend? Pointing your friend to Jesus! Janet is one friend who does this well. Janet is part of a Friendship Ministries class at her church. At Friendship Class, people get together to hang out, sing praise songs, and pray. Although Janet often can’t come to class because she is sick, she loves to laugh and sing. She is also strong for other people when they are sad, offering a hug and a prayer. Her big smile shows the joy Jesus has given her. She knows it doesn’t matter whether she has fancy clothes or boring ones. And it doesn’t matter if she feels super smart or not so hot. She belongs to Jesus and that is what counts! Because she knows this, she welcomes others to be her friend just as they are. What a way to be a true friend!
