Summer Institute on Theology and Disability
Collaborating with ministry partners is a big deal at Joni and Friends. Ephesians 4:16 says that “As each part [of Christ’s body] does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow…”. In other words, the best ideas emerge when we come together to share our knowledge and experiences about disability ministry. Having a variety of input helps us understand concepts we wouldn’t grasp without each other. It’s the point behind the Summer Institute on Theology and Disability to be held at Azusa Pacific University June 5-8. And I am thrilled to be giving the keynote address at this annual event in Azusa, California. The Institute will bring together a diverse group of scholars, practitioners, clergy, and others who are passionate about inclusive ministries. The ultimate goal is to learn how the church can better include the gifts, needs, and contributions of those affected by disability. The Summer Institute’s goal is to not only impact the church, but our culture – it’s why my plenary address is centered around disability and social injustice. What is the Bible calling us to do? Find the answers by taking part in this special Summer Institute. Get all the details at Theology and Disability website. I am hoping to see you there!
