The Season of Giving

Up until the day my friend Joan went home to heaven, she enjoyed giving (she and her husband Andy head up Premier Designs jewelry). She wanted to encourage her friends to also give generously with an eye to God’s glory. So Joan created a unique set of charms for a necklace, just for her loved ones. It was two shovels: the inscription on the smaller spade says, “You can never out-give God.” And the larger one? It says, “He has the bigger shovel!” What a joyful way to live! It’s why this season Ken and I are including an extra year-end gift to Joni and Friends, and planning to give unreservedly of our time and talents to the ministry in the New Year. Join us in being generous, knowing God has the bigger shovel! After all, II Corinthians 8:2 is our model: “Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy… welled up in rich generosity.”
