It’s Radio Day!
Early Monday morning, Ken and I, along with Rainey and Amy (they make up the radio department) will pile into the recording studio, once again, to record a slew of new radio programs – 30 “Joni and Friends” programs, 62 one-minute features (we call Diamonds in the Dust) and the usual station promos and PSA’s. Our capable producer, Jim Sanders, will lead the way. Radio day is always a day peppered with much prayer and singing, and this time, I’m recording programs to be aired during Christmas, so it’ll be “Joy to the World” all day long. Oh, how I wish you could join us; in a way, you can as you lift us up in prayer throughout the day – when I get winded, or my hip gets hissy from pain, you’ll often find us bowing our heads, asking God for fresh grace for the moment. Psalm 142:6 is often our catch phrase through the day: “Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need….”. Yep, that’s us – radio day makes us happy, but it reminds us we simply cannot do it without Jesus!
