A Quiet Season

child prayingSsshhhh! Do you hear it? Nothing? That’s right. January and the cold winter season can be a very different time… a quiet time. Christmas carols have stopped playing and the twinkling lights are gone. The colorful ribbons and bows have been packed away in their boxes. For many of us, the frosty temperatures keep us tucked away, too. You could pick up one of your new toys or games, but what if you used some of this quiet time to pray or read your Bible? Just like with our friends, we get to know God better as we spend time with him. James 4:8 tells us “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” In the Bible we see that during Jesus’ life He made sure to get alone for times of prayer. God wants you and me to do the same. You could join Joni as she reads through the entire Bible this year. Just download a reading schedule and get started today.
