Hotel Dedicates ADA Suite to Joni Eareckson Tada

AGOURA HILLS, CA – February 6, 2023:

The Hyatt Regency Westlake, CA, recently remodeled a hotel suite to adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act and then dedicated it to Joni and Friends Founder and CEO, Joni Eareckson Tada.

As a person whose life has been profoundly impacted by disability, and who has spent most of her life advocating for people living with disability, Joni is aware of the numerous difficulties travel can present for people with disabilities.

The suite includes a piece of Joni’s artwork, some of her books, and a plaque dedicated to her.

The Joni Eareckson Tada Suite, room #124, is ready for occupancy.

David Barnett, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hyatt said, “Joni and Friends has been in Conejo Valley for 26 years and serves as a beacon of light and hope to so many with disabilities. We wanted to commemorate Joni’s impact within our community and share her remarkable story, and the Joni and Friends cause, with our guests for years to come.

Joni is incredibly honored by this gesture and rejoices that people with disabilities will be able to find accessible accommodations while traveling in the Conejo Valley.

She added, “It’s one thing for businesses in the Conejo Valley to honor ADA codes, but it’s quite another when an establishment goes above and beyond the requirements.

Truly, the Hyatt Regency Westlake has gone the extra mile in creating this special suite designed specifically for guests who have disabilities! When I wheeled into the guestroom and saw my artwork hanging on the wall, I was doubly blessed! I’m so grateful to the executive staff at this prestigious hotel for honoring my legacy as a disability advocate, and I can’t wait for my husband and I to stay overnight in this special suite!”
