Memories from Ethiopia

Joni explains the Gospel braceletThe other day, while going through old photos from past ministry trips, I came across this precious photo of a little Ethiopian girl I met in a leper colony in 2004. It was snapped during my visit to a village outside of Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. The children with leprosy were intensely curious about my quadriplegia, and I sensed that their hearts ‘went out’ to me (even though they were isolated in a colony). This child was thrilled when I gave her my gospel bracelet off my wrist. I explained the Good News of Jesus, pointing to the various colored beads that represented sin, Christ’s blood, forgiveness, etc. (that’s my hand in the photo). “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these'” (Matthew 19:13-14). Pray for the children with disabilities that we are reaching around the world! And then, help us minister to these kids by creating these Gospel Bracelets; just make sure to download the instructions. Together, we can reach children like this Ethiopian girl with the hope of Jesus.
