Meet My Friend Aaron

A little over a year ago, 32-year-old Aaron and his girlfriend Lisa were snowboarding up at Big Bear, California. During a run downhill, Aaron made a wrong turn and slammed into a tree – he broke his neck at the third cervical level which left him a quadriplegic. Despite this catastrophic injury, Aaron is working hard to gain as much strength as he can, as well as secure a job in the insurance industry. He’s also making gains when it comes to understanding God and His Word. He told me he feels blessed to be alive, and recently I learned that he and Lisa are engaged to be married! Aaron has a long way to go, but the verse I gave him? James 1:12, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12).
