Jaron speaking to special-needs familiesOur recent International Family Retreat in Shenyang, China was a success on so many levels. Steve Bundy, our VP at the Christian Institute on Disability, was one of the leaders and he wrote, “What a great retreat! It was an amazing time of ministry on so many levels! There were 6 decisions for Christ and many who are getting close to the Kingdom. It was wonderful answering questions about Jesus and Christianity to those who have only known Buddhism.” Steve is father to Caleb, a teenager who has autism and other developmental disabilities; Steve shared that “although languages and cultures may be different, the sting of disability is the same around the world. We shared God’s hope in the midst of suffering – all glory to God and credit to Caleb!”

It was also a special time for Steve to serve alongside his wife, Melissa, and their son, Jaron. Steve wrote, “I’m so proud of Jaron. He was nervous in talking in front of the Chinese special-needs families about his experience as a sibling to Caleb, but did a great job. He was going to share for about 15 minutes, but parents started asking questions and Jaron’s Q&A time went on for an hour and 15 minutes. It was also impactful for parents to hear Jaron speak so boldly of his faith at age 12.” Thank you for praying for these special-needs families in China who opened their hearts to Christ – and continue to pray for those still on the edge of the Kingdom!
