It’s Glaucoma Awareness Month!
Jesus healed many blind people, some brought by friends for healing, others who happened to be near Jesus when he walked toward Jericho. I love the attitude of the blind beggar at the side of the road who shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:35-42). This man was determined — no matter how much people tried to get him to shush, he knew he needed to do something about his condition. Help was nearby, why shouldn’t he seek it? And it’s a great lesson for us when it comes to eye health. Friend, your eye health matters. As we age, not only is it more likely that we will need eyeglasses, but our risk for developing eye disease also increases — including cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. But you can do something about it. First, learn more about eye health with our free downloadable info sheet, and then schedule an appointment with an eye health professional. Oh and don’t forget to listen to this week’s radio messages to learn more about eye health in developing nations. In honor of Glaucoma Awareness Month — be determined to keep your eyes healthy!
