Friday, August 13th Update from Joni
This is something to celebrate! I’ve completed the first week of chemotherapy and today, August 13th, is the first time I have felt myself rising up out of that initial ‘slump’ of no-energy and feeling drained and tired. I even came into work today and wrote a fistful of radio programs — proof of it is this snazzy photo of my secretary, Francie, and me and my sister, Kathy (who heads home to Maryland on Sunday after this, her second stint out here helping me). I praise God and if I could lift my arms high in the air, I’d be waving them ecstatically for “the Lord is my helper, I am not afraid” (Hebrews 13:6) and “He himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you'” (Hebrews 13:5).
Your posts on the blog, your emails and notes continue to inspire and refresh me. My second round of chemotherapy is still a couple weeks away, but now is the season for rejoicing — join me this weekend in thanking the Lord for His goodness and graciousness!
