Mr. EbersoleToday we are interviewing Mr. Ebersole about how his job helps others.

Thank you for joining us on Kids’ Corner today, Mr. Ebersole. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A medical doctor, like my daddy. I wanted to help people.

You changed your mind about being a doctor, but you didn’t change your mind about helping people. How do you help people in your job now?

I help provide the tools and resources to Joni and Friends people around the country to bring the hope of Jesus to people with disabilities and their families. Part of that is helping them make Family Retreats the best they can be. My job is kind of like providing some of the ingredients to a baker who is making the cake. We provide some of the ingredients and the folks around the country make the cake.

What is something Kids’ Corner kids can do now if they want to have a job like yours when they grow up?

Be the hands for someone in school or at church whose hands don’t work or be a friend to someone who has autism or another type of disability. Just because someone uses a wheelchair doesn’t mean their brain doesn’t work. We are more alike than different as people.

Thank you, Mr. Ebersole!
