Congratulations to Zhang Xu and His Ministry!

It was nearly two decades ago that Dr. Zhang Xu from the People’s Republic of China broke his neck in a diving accident, much like I did. Zhang Xu also suffered the same kind of despair, knowing he would never walk again. But a physical therapist from Japan shared the Joni book with him, and Xu opened his heart to Christ. He knew right away he needed to ‘pass on’ the hope. So ten years ago, Dr. Zhang Xu founded the Bethesda Rehabilitation Ministry of Anshan, China to give the love of God to special-needs families. They just celebrated their first decade of outreach. Zhang Xu remains a close partner with Joni and Friends – we send Wheels for the World teams to his city to help the many people with disabilities he serves.
